Computer systems that can perform in harsh field environments often share a common heritage with products we have designed for use by military customers. The conditions are often the same, and involve temperature extremes, shock, vibration, airborne contaminants, hazardous chemicals and gasses and even explosive hazards. Our experience creating rugged versions of off-the-shelf products allows us to produce cost-effective boards, systems and displays for these rugged environments.
