Software Defined Radio

Software Defined Radio is an enabling technology that is revolutionizing the RF world by placing the data converters as close to the antenna as possible. GE Fanuc Embedded Systems is at the forefront of this advanced technology with a family of state-of-the-art open architecture modules that include large capacity FPGA devices for customer-specified signal processing functions (available in PCI, XMC/PMC and VME formats). These modules can be used for a wide range of applications, including radar, communications, electronic warfare, signal intelligence, cellular base stations, RF test equipment and the like. Both board-level and system-level products are offered in order to reduce time to market. For multi-mission and cognitive radio applications, our Software Defined Radio blades deliver processing power, plus receive and/or transmit functions in one VME or PCI bus slot.
